Is Satan Alive? You Better Believe he Is!

Is Satan Alive?

You Better Believe he Is!

When we attend Sunday worship, we hear lessons on how to become a Christian, the parables, Bible history and things that make us feel good as Christians.  But, Satan is working in the background to steal our soul in all these feel-good lessons. Satan rears his intentions in the very first book in the Bible when he takes the soul of Eve and then Adam.  The devil is referred to fifty-seven times in the King James Bible as the Devil, Satan, Lucifer, the Beast, a Roaring Lion, and a host of other names.  Satan not only tempts us with the evil that looks like glitter, makes us feel good, and we become addicted to these things.  Satan even tempted Jesus by trying to give Him what was already His.  Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”  10  Then Jesus said to him, [b]“Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ 11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.  As Jesus was able to fend off the Devil, we too have the same power to turn evil away.  1 Corinthians 10:13 New King James Version (NKJV) 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to [a]bear it. We have to be on guard at ALL times 1 Peter 5:8 tells us,  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

We then read where all who follow the Devil will go for all eternity, and this part is where many preachers back off.  Many do not want to hear it, and they do not want their children to hear about….HELL.  Just the mention of hell makes many want to turn their ears away from hearing the truth.  If one doesn’t want to accept the idea or the fact that there is a hell might need to study this a bit more.  After all, isn’t this what we teach the lost and the rewards of Heaven in hopes of converting them, in hopes they will be baptized.

So, we ALL need to be ready for the Lord when He returns.

The Coming of the Son of Man

Matthew 4:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His [d]elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The Parable of the Fig Tree

32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that [e]it is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

No One Knows the Day or Hour

36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of [f]heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what [g]hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what [h]hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

The Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant

45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food [i]in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying [j]his coming,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
